Making Something Good

Making Something Good

My nephew Ezzy made his first batch of cookies by himself after school a few days ago (picture attached). It made me think of what I read and what goes into the making of these cookies. By itself, the flour doesn’t taste good; neither does the baking soda, nor the salt, nor the butter. However, when he added the eggs, the chocolate chips, vanilla, and water and he mixed the “ingredients” together and put them in the oven, they were transformed. They came out just right and tasted delicious. Maybe you think much of life can taste bad.  But if we shift our mindset and trust that God is able to combine the “Ingredients” of our life in a way that when God is finished, the result is good. God brings the best out of us and our life, transforming us.

You are God’s Masterpiece in Christ (Ephesians 2:10). All of God’s works are beautiful; you are one of them and He loves you. Hear the Lord saying to you, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!” Jeremiah 31:3 MSG

May you be filled with hope, warmth, love, and gratitude, surrounded by those who mean the most to you.
